Brochures are a staple of any good suite of marketing collateral. The physical feature that defines and distinguishes a brochure from a flyer is that a brochure is folded, and a flyer is not. But that is only where the differences start. Whether you need a flyer or a brochure for the marketing task at hand depends on what you’re trying to achieve. To get quick bursts of information out about your promotion or event, a flyer is the way to go.

But if you have more to communicate than you can fit on a flyer, or you want your customer to hold onto the information for later reference, a brochure fits the bill perfectly.

While I'm here, what else can I design and print?

So you have the design bug – that’s great! It’s probably time to make sure you’ve created a Snap Print Solutions account. That way you can take elements from one product design and use them to create another.

Let’s say you’ve designed and printed some cards in A6, A4, A5 or DL. Now you can easily turn them into a poster (in A3, A1, A0 or A2). There’s also an opportunity to create pull-up banners, flyers or business cards.

And don’t forget: we also print stickers in rectangle, square or round.

What exactly is a brochure?

So you know that brochures are a good idea, but aren’t sure where to start? Or maybe you’re not even sure what a brochure is, let alone how to start designing one.

Well, you’ve stumbled onto the right site. Let us fill you in. A brochure is simply a folded piece of paper that communicates a message. And it’s usually printed in bulk to help you tell your story in an eye-catching, easy-to-digest way.

What's the difference between a brochure and a flyer?

Short answer? Not a whole lot.

But when it comes to design, there’s one major structural difference between the two. Brochures generally have a fold in them, while flyers don’t. This means that when you’re designing a brochure, you need to choose a layout that allows your message to still make sense when the brochure’s printed and folded.

What makes a great brochure?

There are three elements to a great brochure – a clear message, vibrant design and great copy.

Let’s say you want to let people know about a new business, inform them of an upcoming project or tell your brand’s story. Those are all possible messages.

All you have to do when you’re designing your brochure is make sure your design and copy serve the message you’re trying to communicate. And – of course – have fun!

As soon as you order your brochures, your local Snap Print Solutions store will start creating! Expect it to take two business days for your brochures to be printed and ready. Choosing our click and collect option will have them in your hot little hands quicker than if you choose postage. But if you’re happy to wait, we’ll make sure they ship to you quickly and safely.
